Job summary

CTTRANSIT is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform inspection, diagnosis, preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of facility equipment at the Hartford facility.

The role requires strong plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry and snow removal skills, plus knowledge of HVAC, electrical and hydraulic systems. A valid CDL and Connecticut plumbing license are highly valued, with CMMS and MS Office proficiency preferred.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time facility maintenance experience.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with hydraulic systems or heavy-duty vehicle lifts is a plus.
• Basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry, and snow removal skills.
• Experience using a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Valid Connecticut CDL required; Plumbing License P-1 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, diagnosis, preventive maintenance, repair, replacement and installation of facility equipment.
• Handle plumbing, roofing, masonry, painting, and carpentry tasks as assigned.
• Respond to emergency repairs and snow removal as needed.
• Follow directions from Facilities Director, Crew Leader, and Supervisors.

Job description

Performs tasks in facility maintenance to include but not limited to: inspection, diagnosis, preventive maintenance, repair, replacement and installation of facility equipment. Other trade work to include but not limited to: roofing, masonry, painting, carpentry and other appropriate duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• 1. Performs tasks in facility maintenance to include but not limited to inspection, diagnosis, preventative maintenance, repair replacement, and installation of facility equipment.
• 2. Other trade work to include but not limited to plumbing, roofing, masonry, painting, and carpentry.
• 3. Emergency call in for repairs and snow removal work may be required.
• 4. Other appropriate duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities, Superintendent of Facilities, Crew Leader, and Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements

• 1. Five years of experience working in Facility Maintenance full time. NOTE: May consider other Training, Trade School, or other relevant work experience in place of the five year requirement.
• 2. Basic skills and knowledge of facility mechanical systems including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and fluid transfer systems
• 3. Knowledge of hydraulic systems or heavy duty vehicle lifts system repairs is a plus and may be taken into consideration
• 4. Basic skills in plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry and snow plow / snow removal
• 5. Basic knowledge working with a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)
• 6. Good written and organization skills to complete and maintain forms, lists and other documents
• 7. Basic Computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel
• 8. Valid and current Commercial Vehicle Drivers License (CDL)
• 9. A valid and current Connecticut Plumbing Trade License P-1 preferred; (P-2 may be considered) with 5 years of full time experience working as a licensed tradesman
• 10. Other Trade Licenses will be considered. EX - E-2, B-2, D-2 or higher with 5 years of full time experience working as a licensed tradesman
