Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial life-safety, fire-protection, or suppression-system experience.
• Ability to read schematics, riser diagrams, engineering drawings, and specs.
• Experience using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and life-safety hardware.
• Preferred: NICET or other fire-protection certifications, SCADA/BMS/EPMS familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain, and troubleshoot fire alarm, fire protection, and suppression systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on hydrants, risers, standpipes, and suppression equipment.
• Service toxic gas, flammable gas, oxygen, and multi-gas detection systems.
• Troubleshoot faults, alarms, communications, device failures, and interlocks.
• Support startup, commissioning, calibration, and functional testing of new systems.
• Interface with PLCs, SCADA, BMS, and facility control systems.
• Maintain inspection reports, calibration records, device inventories, wiring diagrams, and CMMS data.
• Apply NFPA standards, building codes, LOTO, and electrical safety practices.

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Life Safety Systems Technician to support a large, advanced manufacturing facility in Peoria, Arizona. This is a hands‑on technical role focused on maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning critical life‑safety systems that protect employees, equipment, and facility operations.

The ideal candidate brings industrial experience with fire protection, fire alarm, suppression, gas‑detection, or related controls systems and is comfortable working with engineering teams, contractors, and vendors in a highly regulated environment.

What You’ll Do

Inspect, test, maintain, and troubleshoot fire alarm, fire protection, suppression, and Toxic Gas Monitoring (TGM) systems.

Perform preventive maintenance on hydrants, risers, standpipes, flow switches, extinguishers, foam systems, and suppression equipment.

Service toxic gas, flammable gas, oxygen, and multi‑gas detection systems.

Troubleshoot system faults, alarms, communication issues, device failures, and interlocks.

Support startup, commissioning, calibration, and functional testing of new systems.

Interface with PLCs, SCADA, BMS, and facility control systems.

Maintain accurate inspection reports, calibration records, device inventories, wiring diagrams, and CMMS documentation.

Apply NFPA standards, fire codes, building codes, LOTO, and electrical safety practices.

What You Bring

High school diploma required; technical or trade‑school education preferred.

3+ years of industrial life‑safety, fire‑protection, or suppression‑system experience preferred.

Ability to read schematics, riser diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.

Experience using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and life‑safety hardware.

Strong computer skills and familiarity with CMMS platforms.

Preferred: NICET or other fire‑protection certifications, instrumentation/controls certification, and experience with SCADA, BMS, or EPMS systems.
