Job summary

Abzena in the United States is seeking a Facilities Manager, Capital Projects & Infrastructure to lead site CAPEX initiatives, drive upgrades, and ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, OSHA, and EPA requirements.

You will oversee a team of Facilities Engineers and Project Coordinators, coordinate architectural, engineering, and construction activities, and partner with Operations, Quality, Validation, and Finance to deliver capital projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 7+ years in facilities, engineering, or capital project management.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience.
• Experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing environments.
• Capital projects leadership in pharma/biotech/manufacturing facilities.
• Knowledge of commissioning, qualification, and validation processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead all site CAPEX projects from concept through commissioning and handoff.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines, and resource plans.
• Manage installation of new manufacturing equipment, laboratory instruments, utilities, and facility systems.
• Coordinate architectural, engineering, and construction activities.
• Oversee contractor selection, vendor management, and contract administration.
• Track project expenditures and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
• Manage facility upgrades involving HVAC, utilities, and building systems.
• Support facility expansions, renovations, and optimization initiatives.
• Ensure projects comply with GMP, FDA, OSHA, EPA, and local building codes.
• Partner with Validation and Quality on qualification and commissioning activities.
• Develop and maintain a multi-year capital improvement roadmap.
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost savings.
• Lead, coach, and develop Facilities Engineers, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators.
