Position Title: Technical Specialist (Lead)

Position Summary
Technical Specialist are responsible for delivering, removing, servicing and maintaining durable medical equipment in patient homes and healthcare facilities. The job requires daily travel using a company vehicle, occasional overnight travel with extended travel for staff coverage. The service area may extend 250+ miles. Position is also responsible to oversee facilities maintenance for designated service location.
Field Service Tasks
- Schedules and oversees installations, deliveries and removals of medical equipment in patient homes and healthcare facilities. Includes scheduling routes to manage staff efficiency and overtime.
- Keeps accurate records of delivery, pick-up, maintenance and repair activities.
- Demonstrates and explains general operation and proper use of medical equipment to patient/customer.
- Periodically works on-call rotation.
- Adheres to all company safety and compliance policies.
Staff Responsibilities
- Works with department Trainer to ensure all team members are trained properly.
- Ensures staff timecards are submitted accurately and on time.
- Escalates performance and conduct incidents to management.
- Escalates compliance, safety and quality incidents to management.
Facility Operations
- Facility Maintenance and Compliance: Coordinates the maintenance and repairs of the facility, including building codes, equipment, environmental regulations, accessibility requirements, and fire safety standards. Includes business regulations, i.e. postings, notices and conducting regular inspections, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and addressing any issues promptly to ensure a safe, compliant and functional environment.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborates with internal stakeholders to facilitate scheduled installation, repairs, removals and address any issues or concerns. Participates in regular scheduled meetings.
- Inventory: Maintains accurate records of inventory receipts and conducts periodic inventory counts.
- Fleet Management: Responsible for all general fleet vehicle upkeep including periodic or random inspections.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years Team Lead or Supervisory experience
- Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting and technical skills
- Proven customer service/support experience.
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid license with minimum 3 years driving experience. Must be insurable at standard automobile rates at all times.
- Proficient with standard technology devices and Apps (mobile phones, tablets, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical or Trade School training or certification.
- 3 Years DME or related medical device/healthcare industry experience.
- 3 Years leadership or supervisory experience.
Physical and Safety Requirements
- Ability to sit, kneel, bend, or stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to safely lift, move or transport, 50-75 lbs. with and without physical aids.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle for short and long-distance travel.
- Must wear provided personal protective equipment including but not limited to safety shoes, gloves, and protective clothing.
- Ability to travel occasionally and overnight by automobile or commercial flight.
