Job description

About Veev, by Lennar

Veev is leading the transformation of the construction industry with an innovative approach to home construction. Veev’s prefabricated closed-panel systems allow homes to be assembled efficiently on-site while delivering a more sustainable and higher-quality final product than traditional construction. As a new subsidiary of Lennar, Veev leverages the strength and scale of its parent company while maintaining the speed and disruptive approach of its roots as a Silicon Valley-based startup. Veev has developed a vertically integrated approach that involves multidisciplinary collaboration across real estate, design, development, engineering, manufacturing, and construction.

The Role

A Facilities Lead oversees physical workplaces, managing building operations, facilities equipment maintenance, and vendor contracts. Typically functioning as the operational backbone for a site, this hands‑on leadership role coordinates repairs, manages safety compliance (OSHA/Cal‑OSHA), and ensures daily facility uptime. This role requires a leader who is ready and able to collaborate cross‑functionally to bring high‑quality equipment solutions to a variety of production needs. The successful candidate will be comfortable with working on the factory floor (understanding the day‑to‑day tasks of our assemblers and machine‑operators, equipment trials, modification, and commissioning, hands‑on problem‑solving to keep the production line running, etc.)

Responsibilities
  • Operations & Maintenance:
    • Assist with developing preventive maintenance schedules using a CMMS system ensuring regular inspections and servicing of life safety systems, equipment and facilities.
    • Planning and directing preventative maintenance tasks for HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems, etc.
    • Perform skilled trades tasks like carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC, or electrical work as required to complete maintenance and facility projects.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management:
    • Procuring and coordinating contracted services associated with facility and site maintenance, facility renovations and construction projects.
  • Facilities Program Development:
    • Development of the preventative maintenance system using CMMS software and continuous improvement projects in facilities operations.
    • Develop and implement preventative maintenance protocols.
    • Establish spare parts and consumables inventory and replenish as needed.
    • Document the completion of work orders thoroughly, detailing steps taken, parts installed, and repairs performed on all equipment and building systems.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Conducting routine safety audits and adherence to building codes.
    • Coordinate the hazardous waste management program.
    • Support EHS compliance efforts.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervising maintenance personnel, leading continuous improvement efforts, managing work requests and maintaining a high level of productivity in the group.
    • Mentor technicians to support their professional growth and align with organizational goals.
Education & Experience
  • Experience: 5+ years in facility maintenance, building operations, or a technical trade (HVAC/electrical).
  • Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Certifications: Associate’s degree or equivalent from two‑year college or technical school. Technical degree or trade/mechanical training related to the operation and maintenance of facility systems.
  • Participation in a rotational emergency on‑call program is required.
