Job summary

Canlan Sports is seeking a pro-active janitor to perform janitorial and minor maintenance duties for our multi-sport complex. You will help keep the facility and grounds clean and safe, performing routine maintenance as needed.

The role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and call-outs, with a focus on teamwork and clear communication to support a high-growth, community-focused sport environment.

Qualifications

• Completed high school education or equivalent is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license an asset.
• Building Service Worker Certificate (BC).
• Previous experience as a commercial buildings janitor (preferred).
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends and call outs).
• Approachable and team orientated with great communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes.
• Ensure that entrances, grounds, and parking lot are kept clean, clear and safe including property & grounds cleanup.
• Grass cutting and edging.
• Seasonal snow and debris removal.
• Maintain appropriate checklists, records and reports with respect to window cleanliness and parking lot cleanup.
• Perform vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing and buffing in line with established floor care procedures.
• Assist with minor maintenance as required.
• Assist in Ice Maintenance during peak periods, short staffing or as required.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Driver's license (asset)

Building Service Worker Certificate (BC)

Commercial buildings janitor experience (preferred)

Flexible hours (evenings, weekends, call outs)

Team-oriented with good communication
