Job Description

Job Title: Facilities Jammer

Division/Department: Maintenance

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Scheduled Hours: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts available

Job Overview:

The primary responsibility of Facilities Jammer is to set up, maintain, and operate machinery. They must be technically inclined and able to properly utilize tools and machinery. Additionally, they must analyze situations and find solutions if issues arise. The Facilities Jammer must report all concerns or malfunctions that may interfere with operations or personnel safety to their manager and supervisor. Responsibilities include clearing jams of all kinds that obstruct movement of totes and boxes, checking for misaligned sensors or debris contributing to jams, identifying potential causes, and reporting them to the HMI or mechanic. They should also inspect the work area for minor mechanical or electrical issues, assist mechanics, and manually move boxes when the system is down. Assistance with jams in other areas is also required.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Perform preventative maintenance on machinery by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning daily.
2. Identify failures requiring monitoring or repair.
3. Report larger repairs needed to supervisors and mechanics.
4. Understand production procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

• As assigned by the manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and specifications.
• Good understanding of safety procedures.
• Understanding basic controls (start, stop, etc.), sensors, etc.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Licenses:

• 1-2 years of industry experience.
• Trade school diploma or industry certifications are a plus.

Physical Environment and Risks:

• Warehouse environment.
• Perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
• Frequent use of hand tools, power tools, hammers, nails, and bolts.
