Job summary

National Ability Center in Park City, Utah, is seeking a Buildings and Grounds Maintenance Technician to maintain campus facilities, landscaping, snow removal, and vehicle care. It is a full-time, in-person role with benefits, requiring occasional weekend or after-hours work for projects and events.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, be self-motivated, and able to work with volunteers and contractors while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of experience in construction, building maintenance, and/or grounds keeping.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Be able to maintain a Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) physical.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, repairs, and improves all facility structures personally, in support of the Buildings & Grounds team, or via contractor/vendor managed projects.
  • Ensures facility-related equipment operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Assist the Buildings & Grounds Manager in selecting contractors & vendors; oversees the projects and manages contracts, scheduling, and budgets.
  • Develops strong vendor relationships to leverage corporate and community support and minimize expenses.
  • Ensures projects meet all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Works with the Buildings & Grounds team to remove snow as necessary for staff and guest winter access throughout the campus.
  • Works directly with volunteers to coordinate and supervise projects; ensures all related tools and materials are in place for project success.
  • Collaborates with and supports all departments for programs and events to ensure all facility, maintenance, and equipment needs are met.
  • Provides basic custodial support to the office and program buildings, when necessary.
  • Assists with key fundraising events and other special events as needed to help advance program goals.
