Job summary

Saint Mary’s Community Services is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to support the Senior Director of Facilities. You will maintain buildings and grounds, perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and landscaping tasks, and supervise volunteers to ensure the safety and welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ years in general maintenance or facilities work.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Knowledge of basic construction materials and maintenance methods.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and powered equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily operational functionality of all facilities.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and equipment repair.
• Maintain grounds, gardens, landscaping, debris removal.
• Operate and maintain tools and maintenance equipment safely.
• Train and supervise volunteers.
• Identify maintenance needs and report issues to vendors.
• Follow safety procedures and policies.
• Embrace SMCS mission to provide a safe environment for guests and staff.
