Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for its Hartford, CT campus. The role performs general preventive maintenance and repairs to multiple areas of the facility, ensuring safety and reliability of equipment and spaces.

Qualifications

• 1 year of general building maintenance experience.
• At least 2 years horticulture experience in retail/wholesale/grounds keeping.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• CT driver's license required.
• Ability to operate standard landscaping power equipment.
• Experience with winter plowing preferred.
• Ability to work as a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Completes work orders and documents appropriate information on completed work and/or documents the status of equipment in order to maintain appropriate records for regulatory agencies.
• Utilizes materials (wood, metal, concrete, plastics, composites) to fit and install glass windows, pictures, ceiling tiles, perimeter rail systems, wood trim and moldings, medical hardware stations, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations and other projects.
• Performs general outside maintenance (mowing lawns, weeding, raking leaves, trimming bushes, snow removal and ice control tasks).
• Perform minor plumbing repairs and replacements of faucets, toilets and flush valves.
• Performs the decorative application to walls, ceiling and other structures which include scraping, sanding, filling holes and cracks, removing /replacing outlet and switch covers, masking and applying paint or wall covering to surfaces based on manufacturing specifications.
• Perform other related duties as required.
