Job summary

Hornig Companies seeks a full-time Buildings & Grounds Technician to respond to work orders in Plymouth, Wayzata, and St. Michael. The role covers grounds maintenance, turn-over cleaning of apartments, pest control coordination, and light maintenance of tools and equipment.

The position includes duties such as mowing, snow removal, lawn care, and general building upkeep. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required, with a Monday–Friday daytime schedule and

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain Certified Pool Operator license (CPO) within 2 months of employment
• Some knowledge of operating light machines like snow blowers, lawn mowers, trimmers or carpet cleaning equipment
• Ability and willingness to learn
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Valid Driver’s License and meet car insurance requirements
• Ability to stand, lift and bend for up to 8 hours (with breaks) in hot/cold and wet environments
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to operate applicable phone applications for work orders, time allocation and information look-up

Responsibilities

• Grounds: Lawn care, snow removal, and grounds upkeep across multiple properties
• Building Assistant: turnover cleaning, pest control coordination, light engine maintenance
• Misc Duties: cleaning, vehicle maintenance, safety promotion, and meetings attendance
