Job summary

St. Jane de Chantal Church & School in Bethesda, MD seeks a full-time Facilities Maintenance Manager to oversee ongoing maintenance for the parish and school campus, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

You will supervise staff, coordinate contractors, and manage preventive maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and grounds. The role requires strong problem-solving and a focus on safety, with flexibility for emergencies and events.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance or facilities experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, boilers, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Must meet Archdiocesan Child Protection Policy requirements.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair HVAC, boilers, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• Operate fire alarm, sprinkler systems, and elevators
• Respond to work orders and urgent issues
• Supervise custodial/maintenance staff and approve timecards
• Coordinate contractors and facility projects
• Oversee grounds, landscaping, and seasonal work
• Ensure compliance with safety codes and insurance requirements
• Support parish/school events and file insurance claims as needed
• Communicate with staff, vendors, ADW, and government agencies
