Job summary

The Children\'s Home of Jefferson County is seeking a Maintenance Worker to keep the grounds, buildings, and equipment clean, safe, and operable on site. The role reports to the Facilities Director and requires adherence to NY hygiene standards.

Key duties include general maintenance tasks, inspections, and assisting in coordinating small projects across the organization. On-call rotation and weather readiness are required.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma preferred with related experience.
• Three years’ related maintenance or custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds, buildings and equipment in a neat, safe, operable condition.
• Perform general carpentry, plumbing, heating/AC, electrical and appliance repair.
• Coordinate small projects and assist Facilities Director as required.
• Conduct monthly fire extinguisher inspections and boilers checks.
• Respond to agency needs related to custodial work and on-call rotation.
