Job summary

The Cambridge Housing Authority is seeking a Maintenance Laborer to perform unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks across buildings, grounds and equipment in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities include cleaning apartments, mowing, pruning, snow removal and assisting skilled trades. A high school diploma or equivalent is expected, with experience in maintenance preferred and MA driving license required where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or vocational certification required.
• Experience in building maintenance or related trades preferred.
• Knowledge of MA Building Code and valid MA driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance on buildings, apartments, grounds and equipment.
• Clean apartments and common areas; mow lawns; prune shrubs; snow removal; lift heavy objects.
• Assist skilled trades personnel and operate basic hand and power tools.
• Inspect and repair hardware, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and minor systems.
