Job summary

Stephens College is hiring a Facilities General Helper in Columbia, Missouri. The role supports the Facilities team with maintenance, grounds, custodial work, mailroom tasks, and event setups across campus.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team while learning new skills. Responsibilities include moving and loading items, basic maintenance, and assisting with campus operations during events and after-hours on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Wollows to follow written and verbal instructions; safety training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist general maintenance staff with routine maintenance, repairs, and campus projects.
• Move, load, unload, and transport furniture, equipment, and materials.
• Assist with event setups, move-in/move-out, deliveries, and campus activities.
• Perform basic painting, patching, caulking, and general maintenance tasks.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Support campus mailroom operations as needed; sort and distribute mail.
