Responsibilities

• Assist Maintenance personnel as required.
• Operate overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, conveyors and carts as needed.
• Clean sump and sludge per PM or Work Order; monitor coolant systems.
• Maintain inventory of bulk coolant; handle waste and recycling properly.
• Record daily coolant monitoring; back-up pre-treatment system operations.
• Keep work area clean and safe; follow ISO 9001/14001 and GBP.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Prepares a systematic approach to the cleaning, waste & recycle disposal, Preventive Maintenance, monitoring and inventory of fluids, equipment and supplies to perform the tasks defined in the Fluids program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assists Maintenance personnel as required.
• Uses overhead cranes, hoists, lift trucks, conveyors, personnel or burden carriers, and hand trucks to move parts, materials, machinery, and apparatus.
• 6S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain): Lean Principles & standards will be ongoing.
• Sump cleaning of machines-Clean sludge from machines and separators per PM or Work Order
• Clean & maintain Dowtherm type water-based systems
• Refractometer monitoring and adjustment of Aqueous based coolants pH monitoring and adjustments of Aqueous based coolants
• Daily records & tracking/monitoring of coolants
• Serve as pre-treatment system back-up operator
• Pick up trash and dispose of properly
• Pick up chips and composite sludge/waste
• Empty used/oil drums, vacuums, and totes
• Maintain inventory bulk coolant supplies used in operations
• Check and top off/fill satellite aquas and/or oil stations
• Clean Mop sink screens & dock sump and trench
• Use floor scrubber to clean aisles as needed
• Aerosol can collection and puncturing when needed
• Collect & properly dispose of various recycled materials including but not comprehensive: Filter material, paper, cardboard, aluminum cans, e-waste, scrap wire & motors, plastic, misc. metals.
• Work with snow team for snow removal if needed.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to solve with problems by using good judgment based on priorities and logic.
• Perform and Document work or other duties as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Knowledge of janitorial supplies and equipment.
• State licensed driver.
• General Maintenance including painting, moping, cleaning, and general housecleaning.
• Self-starter to work on project assignments.
• Environmental Material Handler (certified in house).
• Other Requirements: Lift Truck operation, able to climb ladders and safe use of lifting device. Work to heights of 12 feet and lift to 50 lbs.
• Practice and follow the GBP and be knowledgeable in ISO 9001 & 14001.
• Employee is required to learn, understand, and practice Lean Manufacturing principles within our facility.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience: Minimum of two years experience in a related field. Computer Skills: Basic knowledge in Word, Excel, and SAP. Understands how to use Company intranet including navigating the Quality Environmental and CIT systems. Must be able to look up a MSDS/SDS and understands EMP / OEFC / QEFC. Other Requirements: Lift Truck operation, able to climb ladders and safe use of lifting device. Work to heights of 12 feet and lift to 50 lbs.Practice and follow the GBP and be knowledgeable in ISO 9001 & 14001.
