Job summary

Carolina Handling, a leader in automation systems integration, seeks a Fleet and Facilities Technician to maintain and improve our Easley, SC facility. You will respond to requests, perform preventive maintenance, and keep areas clean and organized to ensure a safe, efficient work environment.

This role supports van provisioning, coordination with procurement, and accurate record-keeping to enable smooth operations and timely deployments across teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and machinery maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for documenting maintenance activities and communicating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Van Kitting and Redeployment
  • Manage van preparation and kitting process for technicians, including tool kits and required equipment.
  • Load and prep vans for incoming new hires to ensure readiness for deployment.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to coordinate tool kit transportation and logistics.
  • Maintain accurate records of tool inventory and redeployment status.
  • Facility Maintenance and Inspections
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings and functional systems to identify malfunctions and areas in need of repair.
  • Implement preventative and scheduled maintenance procedures to ensure the continued functionality of facilities and equipment.
  • Diagnose facility issues and recommend preferred repair suppliers for effective resolution.
  • Identify and communicate any detected building issues or equipment malfunctions to facilitate timely repairs.
  • Customer Support and Communication
  • Respond promptly to customer requests, ensuring timely resolution of facility-related issues.
  • Communicate relevant information to internal customers and suppliers, including findings, scope of work, and timelines.
  • Facility Organization and Cleanliness
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of facilities to create a safe and comfortable environment for occupants.
  • Monitor and maintain common areas (e.g., kitchen, cafeteria, lobby) and prepare conference rooms before and after meetings.
  • Restock supplies, straighten customer-facing areas, and ensure the facility is neat and presentable to the public.
  • Manage and maintain facility warehouses in a clean and organized manner.
  • Evaluation and Support
  • Evaluate products, services, and suppliers to ensure the highest quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assist with corporate projects as assigned or required to support company objectives.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned or required to support the company's overall operations and objectives.
