Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking a Community Aide to support facilities maintenance operations and fleet services. You will assist skilled trades staff, perform general maintenance and custodial duties, and help with administrative and customer service tasks to keep City facilities and fleet operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in cleaning or custodial work.
• Knowledge of painting, carpentry, masonry, plumbing or electrical trades.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Building Repairers or Fleet staff with repair, maintenance, and operational support tasks.
• Perform minor painting, carpentry, custodial, or general maintenance duties.
• Conduct visual inspections and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Lead or assist with cleanup and organization after repairs or weather events.
• Respond to City emergencies or inclement weather in support of operations.
• Maintain storeroom, rotate stock, track supplies, and enter data.
• Perform housekeeping to ensure safe, organized workspaces.
• Follow safety procedures and supervisor instructions.
