Job description

Facilities Engineering Technician – Seattle

Just-Evotec Biologics is seeking a highly motivated Facilities Engineering Technician to join our team in Seattle, WA. This role offers a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. The technician will monitor plant utility equipment, aiming to enhance equipment reliability through monitoring, preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance. Responsibilities include investigating failures using root cause analysis and forensic engineering, and maintaining compliance with SOPs, cGMPs, safety, and quality standards in a commercial biotherapeutics manufacturing environment.

Based in Seattle, WA, with weekly travel to our Redmond, WA site.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform equipment rounds and readings to collect operational data.
  2. Conduct planned and unplanned maintenance following SOPs and schedules.
  3. Assist troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, metrology/instrumentation, or automation issues.
  4. Manage gas delivery systems and LN2 cryovessels.
  5. Support IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities.
  6. Oversee contractor/vendor activities as assigned.
  7. Maintain familiarity with change control and site/global SOPs.
  8. Revise procedures (SOPs, HECPs, JHAs) as needed.
  9. Ensure compliance with EH&S guidelines and regulations from Washington State, EPA, OSHA, and federal agencies.
  10. Maintain training requirements and qualifications.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  1. Over 1 year of experience in a cGMP environment, with relevant education and training.
  2. Proficiency with computer systems (Word, Excel, BAS, Delta V, MAXIMO).
  3. Ability to acquire knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety standards.
  4. Understanding of FDA, OSHA, EH&S, EPA, and Washington State regulations.
Preferred Requirements:
  1. Associate degree in engineering or related field (preferred).
  2. Electrical or refrigeration license (preferred).
  3. Experience with metrology/calibration programs.
  4. Mechanical skills and troubleshooting expertise.
  5. Experience with Water for Injection Systems and plant utilities.
  6. Skills in troubleshooting washers and autoclaves.
  7. Experience with predictive maintenance technologies and mechanical integrity programs.
Working Environment:
  • May involve working in cold, wet, hot, dusty, or gaseous environments, around moving equipment, and at heights.
  • May require climbing, kneeling, standing, and walking.
  • Work may include weekend and holiday shifts, with possible overtime.

The starting hourly pay range is $22.21 to $29.00, with additional benefits including bonuses, health insurance, disability coverage, life insurance, 401(k), flexible work options, paid time off, and wellness benefits.
