Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on manufacturing and facility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and determine corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Support production by responding to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests.
  • Install, upgrade, and modify equipment as required.
  • Document maintenance activities in the CMMS and maintain records.
  • Assist with validation, qualification, and commissioning activities for new equipment.
  • Participate in CAPA investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and OEE.
  • Assist in spare parts management and project-based maintenance.
  • Follow LOTO and other safety procedures; provide guidance to operators.

Facilities Engineering Technician II

The Facilities Engineering Technician II is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and continuous improvement activities on manufacturing equipment, production machinery, and facility support systems. The role supports uninterrupted manufacturing operations by ensuring equipment reliability, compliance with safety and quality requirements, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on manufacturing and facility equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Support production operations by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests.
  • Perform equipment setup, installation, upgrades, and modifications as required.
  • Execute maintenance work orders and accurately document maintenance activities within the CMMS.
  • Assist with validation, qualification, and commissioning activities for new equipment and process improvements.
  • Support root cause investigations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with GMP, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company procedures.
  • Maintain equipment records, calibration records, maintenance logs, and technical documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Assist in managing spare parts inventory and recommending critical replacement components.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects.
  • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, confined space, and other safety procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing operators when required.
  • Participate in departmental training and maintain required qualifications and certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • No direct supervisory responsibility.
  • May provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to junior maintenance technicians, contractors, and production personnel.
  • May lead assigned maintenance projects or improvement initiatives.
Competency And Qualifications Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, motors, drives, HMIs, and automation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and safe maintenance practices.
  • Understanding of GMP and regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and CMMS software.
Experience Level
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of industrial equipment maintenance experience.
  • Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Experience with troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems required.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability initiatives preferred.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
  • Associate degree in a technical discipline.
  • Certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field.
  • Experience working within FDA-regulated and ISO 13485 certified environments.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent).
  • Fabrication, or precision mechanical repair experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience.
Salary Pay Range:

$26.21 - $35.38 USD Hourly

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by several factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for bonus, commission, equity or other variable compensation.
