Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor, NY, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead Facilities Operations, supervising the Engineering and Maintenance team and coordinating staff, work schedules, and safety programs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems. You’ll oversee capital projects and ensure reliable, compliant operations.

The role emphasizes staff development, budgeting support, and collaboration with contractors, with after-hours emergency coverage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid New York State Driver’s License.
• Minimum of 5–10 years of supervisory experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of occupational-specific experience in facilities/engineering.
• Knowledge of city, state, and federal building and safety codes.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care and Life Safety Standards.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Strong leadership, communication, and business acumen.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Engineering and Maintenance personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Oversee maintenance, inspection, and operation of facility infrastructure and utility systems.
• Direct preventive maintenance programs and monitor system performance.
• Manage contractors, construction activities, and capital improvement projects.
• Support emergency preparedness and response efforts for facility-related incidents.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Assist with budget preparation, procurement, and operational planning.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, quality, and exceptional customer service.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of patient, employee, and organizational information.
• Participate in hiring, training, performance management, and development of team members.
