Job summary

AstraZeneca GmbH in Tarzana, CA is seeking an Engineer for Facilities and Engineering to drive reliability and compliance across GMP facilities. You will lead maintenance strategies, validation, metrology, and capital projects to reduce downtime and enable product supply.

The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to align engineering initiatives with business goals. You will manage mid-size validation efforts, ensure regulatory adherence (FDA/EMA), and develop preventive maintenance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management or related field, plus 4 years in pharma/regulatory setting.
• Extensive GMP knowledge and FDA/EMA compliance experience.
• Proven track record leading validation, metrology, and capital projects.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead facilities maintenance, validation, metrology, and capital projects to improve uptime and compliance.
• Oversee maintenance of laboratories, manufacturing areas, and GMP spaces.
• Develop and implement validation strategies and documentation meeting regulatory standards.
• Manage mid-size validation projects including design, execution, and reporting.
• Coordinate capital projects with stakeholders and external vendors.
• Prepare reports on project status, validation results, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across facilities.
