Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • Knowledge of engineering design standards, codes, and safety criteria.
  • Plant or facilities engineering experience supporting operating equipment and reliability.
  • Experience with pressure equipment, piping, static/rotating equipment, tanks, repairs, or plant modifications.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering, operations, site personnel, and contractors.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent English for technical and business communication.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Area Engineer for a specific plant operating area.
  • Work with Facilities Engineers, Site Contacts, Lead Engineers, Operations personnel, and contractors to support the area.
  • Develop knowledge of and exposure to other areas of the plant.
  • Conduct monthly facilities surveillance and monitor area-driven KPIs.
  • Provide engineering and reliability support for plant pressure equipment, including piping, static equipment, rotating equipment, and tanks.
  • Support plant modifications and changes.
  • Provide engineering support for equipment repairs and alterations.
  • Provide engineering support during plant shutdowns.
  • Evaluate engineering work for compliance with company specifications, engineering standards, applicable codes, safety criteria, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate engineering progress, issues, recommendations, and required actions effectively.
  • Adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequently changing priorities.

Compensation

$80.00/hr

Location

Spring, TX 77389

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. Overtime is approved up to 45 hours per week; anything beyond 45 hours requires additional approval.

Allowances
  • Per diem: $100/day, paid on travel days only
  • Agency truck provided
  • Travel must be booked through BCD and is 100% reimbursable
Scope

Evaluate and provide feedback on discipline-engineering work performed internally and by contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. Facilitate the effective execution of engineering and design activities that align with team objectives and procedures. Ensure accurate and timely communication among the project team and other company functions regarding engineering activities, progress, and issues.

The Facilities Engineer / Specialist II will serve as the Area Engineer supporting a designated plant operating area. This position requires strong technical ability along with effective communication, facilitation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English, particularly for technical and business communications.
