Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated is seeking a facilities maintenance professional at Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans. The role covers repair and upkeep of barns, grandstands, offices and grounds, under supervision of the facilities supervisor, with responsibilities spanning mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Essential duties include overhauls, valve and bearing replacements, pump and compressor work, system monitoring, safety compliance, log maintenance, and general repairs as

Qualifications

• Must have a valid State Driver’s License.
• Must possess a 1st or 2nd class City of New Orleans Stationary Engineer’s certification (Boiler and Air Conditioning).
• Must be able to obtain a Racing License from the Louisiana Racing Commission.

Responsibilities

• Repair and upkeep of the property including barns, grandstand, office buildings and grounds.
• Perform repairs such as overhauls, replacement of valves, gaskets, bearings, pumps and compressors.
• Monitor equipment and systems for leaks, malfunctions and safety compliance.
• Maintain daily operation, maintenance and safety logs and tests.
• Inspect and repair plumbing systems, water/sewer lines and daily maintenance tasks.
• Check and test electrical systems using voltage meters.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
