SpaceX Facilities Engineer, Launch

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all phases of site development projects, ensuring collaboration with on-site groups to maximize productivity and organize schedules.
  • Manage contractors, including RFPs, specifications, and supplier selection.
  • Provide technical engineering support to ensure construction and maintenance comply with standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Commission, operate, and maintain facilities with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Verify maintenance activities and coordinate repairs for HVAC, power systems, security, fire protection, and critical spaces.
  • Develop cost estimates, material requisitions, and plans for various projects.
  • Negotiate and manage construction contracts with subcontractors.
  • Prepare and oversee capital expenditure processes, ensuring technical, budgetary, and deadline compliance.
  • Communicate and schedule building and maintenance activities effectively.
  • Ensure reliability and maintainability of installations.
  • Respond to facility emergencies and manage readiness procedures for environmental threats.
  • Coordinate with agencies like the Air Force, NASA, and Space Force for permits and inspections.
  • Design, maintain, and oversee safety procedures, service schedules, and inventory.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in facilities engineering or construction.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Over 2 years of experience in facility maintenance and construction.
  • Ability to manage complex projects independently.
  • Experience reviewing technical drawings and manuals.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and AutoCAD for fabrication drawings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment like boom lifts and cranes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to pass Air Force background checks.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in extreme conditions.
  • Exposure to fumes, odors, and noise.
  • Availability for extended hours and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Level I: $95,000 - $115,000/year
  • Level II: $110,000 - $130,000/year

Final salary depends on experience and skills. Benefits include stock options, bonuses, comprehensive health coverage, 401(k), paid leave, holidays, and more.
