Job summary
Novo Nordisk A/S in Clayton, NC is seeking a senior engineer to maintain and optimize black utilities systems for the DFP-US facility. You will write and review specifications, participate in design reviews, installations, commissioning and qualifications, and develop SOPs while coordinating with internal and external teams.
The role emphasizes adherence to EHS, quality, and environmental regulations, plus mentoring technicians and maintaining maintenance plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
- 5-8+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing facility
- Knowledge of black utilities: chilled water, plant steam, compressed air, vacuum, wastewater, HVAC
- Knowledge of clean utilities: WFI, clean steam, process air
- Ability to read CAD drawings; basic P&ID, HVAC, electrical
- Experience with URS, FAT, SAT, validation protocols
- Experience with SOPs and high-level documentation
- Strong project planning and cross-functional collaboration
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve system specifications for black utilities
- Support design, installation, commissioning, qualification, training for black utilities as owner
- Provide technical support for site project execution
- Adhere to quality and environmental regulations
- Support development of Facilities Technicians
- Maintain and establish standards for procedures and maintenance plans
- Ensure safety and environmental requirements
