Job summary

SpaceXAI in Memphis, TN and Southaven, MS seeks a facilities engineer to oversee design, construction, operations and maintenance of critical facilities and systems. The role involves coordinating infrastructure projects, overseeing HVAC, electrical, and safety systems, and ensuring compliance with codes.

You will manage contractors, prepare cost estimates, negotiate contracts, and support emergency responses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of professional experience with facilities engineering and/or construction.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends.
• Experience operating boom lifts, man lifts, fork lifts and cranes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all phases of site development projects to maximize productivity.
• Contractor management including RFPs, specifications and supplier selection.
• Provide technical engineering support to ensure compliance with codes and specifications.
• Commission, operate and maintain facilities with mechanical and electrical systems.
• Verify maintenance and coordinate repair and contingency systems for HVAC, high power, cranes, and facility systems.
• Develop cost estimates, material requisitions, plans and specifications for multiple projects.
• Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors.
• Prepare and coordinate capital expenditure processes and site capital projects.
• Communicate building activities and schedules to personnel, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
• Respond to facility emergencies and own readiness procedures for hurricanes and environmental threats.
• Work with Space Force to obtain building permits and ensure inspections.
