Job summary

San Diego State University is seeking a Building Services Engineer to maintain the Aztec Student Union, Scripps Cottage, and SDSU Children’s Center facilities in San Diego. You will perform HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and general repairs and help supervise part-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Experience with maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and building systems.
• Inspect equipment, coordinate with leads, and assist in training part-time staff.
• Ensure compliance with LEED O&M guidelines and safety requirements.
• Maintain clean, organized repair and storage areas and respond to emergency repairs.
• Operate building automation systems and read technical manuals.
