The Impact You'll Make

As a Facilities Engineer / Electrical Engineer at Lam, leveraging your project management expertise, you'll plan and oversee facility changes, plant and tool installations, and production equipment layouts. You'll collaborate with architects on design criteria, layouts, and contracts. You will inspect construction and installation progress to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules. Your focus on performance specifications tailored to unique operating conditions will enhance the efficiency and compliance of Lam's state-of-the-art facilities.

What You'll Do
  • Manage electrical infrastructure systems at Fremont and Livermore campuses.
  • Core responsibilities include medium voltage systems (21kV distribution) and low voltage systems (480V/208V distribution, UPS, Emergency Generator/ATS).
  • Review electrical design inputs and approve facility infrastructure and process tool installation projects.
  • Support construction and commissioning of electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Review short circuit coordination and arc flash studies to enhance system reliability.
  • Maintain as-built documentation and load/capacity reports, forecasting load growth.
  • Drive improvements to increase system reliability and uptime.
  • Create standard operating procedures and conduct training.
  • Lead energy efficiency projects.
  • Coordinate with contractors and service providers to ensure operational results.
  • Perform Failure Mode and Effect Analysis during project design.
  • Manage project finances, including capital and expense control.
Who We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with at least 5 years of semiconductor R&D lab/wafer fab facility engineering experience.
  • Experience working with insurance providers like FM Global.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and support multiple projects.
  • Experience working with local electrical utility providers.
  • Familiarity with power modeling software such as ETAP, SKM, EasyPower.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70/NEC and NFPA 70E safety requirements.
  • Experience creating maintenance programs aligned with NFPA 70B and NETA.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range: $89,000 - $205,000. Actual offers depend on location, experience, education, and skills. Salary may vary due to other factors.
