Position Overview

Sequoia is seeking a Facilities Engineer with experience in managing, executing, and supporting building and plant operations, including labs, manufacturing plants, utilities, equipment, and systems. The candidate will perform routine inspections, maintain records, and be on-call for emergencies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and GMPs. Effective communication and collaboration with various departments are essential to meet facility needs and resolve issues quickly.

Shift: M-F 2pm-10pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule, coordinate, and oversee outside service providers for routine CM and PM tasks under maintenance contracts.
  • Support verification and maintenance with PIDs, HVAC, electrical, one-lines, and PFDs.
  • Ensure completion and proper documentation of all CM and PM tasks according to policies.
  • Perform, schedule, and oversee troubleshooting and repairs on HVAC, mechanical, utility systems, and lab and manufacturing equipment (GxP and non-GxP).
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify issues early, such as wear, leaks, or abnormalities.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs to ensure compliance and facilitate audits.
  • Respond to alarms and emergencies, following emergency response procedures.
  • Coordinate with departments like engineering, manufacturing, quality, and R&D to meet facility needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly.
  • Monitor critical equipment like freezers to ensure proper operation.
  • Communicate regularly with manufacturing teams regarding facility needs.
  • Manage solvent recyclers and environmental waste in compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide shift turnover reports to ensure continuity.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively with minimal oversight.

Qualifications And Requirements

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 2-6 years of project/facilities engineering experience or related roles such as general contractor or construction manager.
  • Facilities background preferred, with process equipment and CAPEX experience.
  • GMP cleanroom experience and understanding of facility systems, utilities, and equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Adherence to safety protocols, PPE use, and emergency procedures.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and GMPs.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Motivated, independent, detail-oriented team player with good organizational skills and initiative.

Physical Demands

Regular use of computer, reaching, talking, listening; walking, sitting, lifting up to 25 pounds; occasional standing, stooping, kneeling; vision requirements include close focus and adjustable focus.

Work Environment

Indoor, temperate environment with moderate noise level and bright lighting suitable for minimal eye strain.

Compensation

Range: $75,000 to $95,000, based on experience and location. Current work authorization required; sponsorship not available.
