Job description

We are hiring a Facilities Electrical System Engineer with 7–10 years of experience in electrical power systems. The role involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the full power distribution network—from 115kV incoming power to 120V office services. This will be a direct placement with a large scale semiconductor manufacturer.

Base Pay Range

$125,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

The engineer supports and maintains the facility’s power distribution system, focusing on medium‑voltage switchgear, transformers, feeders, and substation protection. The role includes system upgrades, preventive maintenance, and shutdown procedures.

  • Review one‑lines, schematics, TCC curves, and equipment documentation.
  • Support arc flash studies (reviewing results, not necessarily running ETAP modeling).
  • Support and oversee substation maintenance, breaker racking, and de‑energization procedures.
  • Write and review MOPs (Methods of Procedure) for shutdowns and energization.
  • Coordinate with field technicians—engineer verifies and oversees switching.
  • Troubleshoot issues with relays, CT/VT polarity, interlocks, and protection schemes.
  • Collect and review harmonic data (Fluke meters, PQ meters, etc.).
Qualifications – Required Skills
  • 7–10 years of experience working with electrical power systems (especially in semiconductor, utility, or data center environments).
  • Hands‑on knowledge of high, medium, and low voltage equipment—from 115kV down to 120V.
  • Strong troubleshooting and maintenance coordination skills to keep systems running smoothly.
  • Experience managing electrical shutdowns and upgrades, including planning and safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with SEL relays and how they’re used in medium voltage systems.
  • Working knowledge of EasyPower or similar software for arc flash and system analysis.
