Continent 8 in South Burlington, VT is seeking a Facilities Engineer to join our in-office team. You will support a stable, secure, scalable IT infrastructure and ensure high-performance operation of all systems.

The role requires 2+ years in IT environments, data centers, vendor management, and ITIL/ITSM knowledge. Shift is Monday–Friday 4pm–1am EST with on-site duties and opportunities to contribute to security, monitoring, and documented processes.

Responsabilidades

• Providing technical assistance for the company’s infrastructure and hosting operations.
• Providing support for IT Infrastructure & Operations, Network/Server and Storage.
• Meet SLAs per application and/or service.
• Establish working relationships with third party providers including ISPs, carriers and cloud providers.
• Support heterogeneous environments (Cisco, HP, Dell, F5, Windows, Linux).
• Adhere to SLAs for IT services and ensure operational reliability.
• Research potential technology solutions for new initiatives and procurement.
• Ensure availability of critical systems through review and testing.
• Participate in escalation procedures and issue routing.
• Support IT Infrastructure standards and ITIL-based policies.
• Facilitate a high-level environment supporting client retention.
• Documentation and ticketing of infrastructure changes.
• Data center operations with 24-hour monitoring and possible overtime.
• Lifting 50lbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Facilities Engineer

As part of our continued expansion, we are on the lookout for a Facilities Engineer (IC2- G4) to join our growing team based in South Burlington, Vermont. This role is 100% in office

As a Facilities Engineer, you will support will support a stable, secure, documented, scalable and responsive systems environment, while ensuring reliable high performance operation of all infrastructure and other technical services.

The Role

• Providing technical assistance for the company’s infrastructure and hosting operations.
• Providing support for the IT Infrastructure & Operations, Network/Server and Storage
• Providing support for additional build outs, meet established SLAs per application and/or service.
• Establishing a working relationships with third party providers including but not limited to ISPs, phone carriers, and other cloud providers
• Supporting a heterogeneous environment that includes multiple hardware vendors (Cisco, HP, Dell, F5, etc.), MS Windows, and Linux
• Meeting SLA’s for IT services ensuring the functional operation and adherence to SLA’s for these services.
• Assisting in researching potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives, opportunities, and procurement efforts.
• Ensuring availability of all critical systems through regular review and testing.
• Participating in the escalation procedures and work flow for the timely routing and resolution of all issues.
• Supporting of the established definition of IT Infrastructure standards and policies.
• Performing and supporting the ITIL based policies and procedures i.e. change management
• Facilitating and maintaining an a high level environment resulting in client retention
• Documentation and ticket creation of infrastructure changes in the ticketing system.
• Data center operations via 24 hour monitoring and support, which at times may require overtime hours to be performed.
• Lifting 50lbs.
• Performing other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required:

• 2+ years of experience working in and supporting IT technical environments and solutions
• Experience with supporting data centers
• Proven success in supporting solutions in an Internet, network, Communications, Financial, Enterprise, Cloud or Data Center environment to clients.
