Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a manufacturing company just south of Indianapolis seeking a Facilities Engineer to join on 1st shift as a direct hire with full benefits and 401k match.

Responsibilities include maintaining infrastructure, managing capital projects, ensuring OSHA/compliance, and coordinating contractors to minimize downtime and improve energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 3-7 years of facilities/manufacturing/engineering experience.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and industrial utilities.
• Experience managing capital projects and coordinating contractors.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and building codes.
• Strong problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve facility infrastructure and utilities (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
• Plan, coordinate, and manage facility maintenance, repairs, renovations, and capital projects.
• Develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and specs for facility projects.
• Coordinate contractors and vendors, ensuring safety and on-time completion within budget.
• Monitor energy use, reliability, and operating costs; improve efficiency.
• Support preventive/predictive maintenance programs for equipment and systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and building codes.
• Assist with equipment installations, expansions, and layout changes.
• Investigate issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain facility documentation (drawings, maps, records).
• Support emergency response and coordinate repairs during outages.
• Participate in Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production goals and reduce downtime.
• Manage facility-related budgets and forecast expenditures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve facility infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, water, steam, and other utility systems.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage facility maintenance, repairs, renovations, and capital improvement projects.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical specifications for facility-related projects.
• Coordinate and oversee contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
• Monitor facility performance and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, equipment reliability, and operating costs.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs for facility equipment and building systems.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies related to safety, environmental, and building codes.
• Assist with equipment installations, plant expansions, and production layout changes.
• Investigate facility-related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain facility documentation, including drawings, utility maps, equipment records, and maintenance histories.
• Support emergency response activities and coordinate repairs during unplanned facility outages.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production goals and minimize downtime.
• Manage facility-related budgets and assist with forecasting capital and maintenance expenditures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 3-7 years of facilities engineering, maintenance engineering, or manufacturing engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, compressed air, boilers, and other industrial utilities.
• Experience managing capital projects and coordinating contractors.
• Knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, and building codes.
• Strong problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.
