This is a Houston, TX based full-time position for the engineering of oil & gas pipelines, and related facilities. Duties of role to include the mechanical design of equipment and piping systems related to various upstream and midstream facilities for onshore and offshore projects. Candidate must be knowledgeable of the related ASME and API codes as well as somefamiliar with regulatoryrequirements.
Essential Functions
- Prepareengineeringreports, design calculations, drawings, and technical specifications related to pipeline and facility design and construction
- Read and createprocess flow diagrams and P&IDs
- Ability to direct and manage the piping design ofpipelines andfacilities.
- Capable, or at least understand thebasics,of sizing and selecting equipment including pumps, control valves, oil & gas separators, scrubbers, treaters, etc.
- Understandthe basics of instrumentation andinterface withcontrol systems engineers.
- Review and/or approve vendor drawings for compliance with project specifications.
- Visitjob-sitesto evaluate site, project requirements, and conditions. Visit vendor facilities to inspect equipment for compliance with requirements/specifications.
- Experience with Hydraulic modeling and pipe stressanalyses.
- Work both independently and alongside an engineering team to develop both high level and detailed design of mechanical piping systems.
- Interface with other disciplines on a multi-disciplinary team (survey,structural, electrical, and/or instrumentation)
- Develop construction drawing packages and contractor specifications for oil and gas pipelineand facilityprojects.
- Report job activity andmaintaindetailed logs about work activities, reporting to project managers and executive management.
- Identifyopportunities for improvement of work products and standards.
- Meetdeadlines working on multiple projects and/or with multipleclients with minimum supervision andtakeresponsibility for planning and prioritizing tasks.
- Maintain a high standard of work performance andensuringthat all done isin accordance withthe standards of the company and client.
- Strongcommunications skills and ability tointerreactdirectlywith clients, suppliers, upper management, and construction personnel.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum5years experiencein the project and detailed engineering ofoil & gasupstream and/or midstream related facilities.
- Ability to read and understand: P&IDs, piping drawings, specifications and related codes and standards.
- Abilityto communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing.
- Must be Able to Work for any US Employer.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ yearsof experience
- Medium/large multi-discipline project lead experience
- Pipeline route development and alignment sheet review
- Permittingexperience for development of new oil and gas facilities or pipelines
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited university in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering.

Physical Expectations:
- Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs
- Must be able to stand, kneel, and walk forlong periodsof time
- Must pass background check and be able to pass both a pre-employment & random drug test(s)
- Must be able to travel occasionally up to 25% including overnight travel to various locations & customer sites to provide service based on business needs
- Duties performed indoors & outdoors with exposure to weather and elements.
