Job summary

Neiman Marcus is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to keep store systems running at our Beverly Hills flagship. The role covers electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building envelope upkeep, plus energy management using Trane Ensemble software.

You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to outages, and support POS and store communications. A vocational degree in mechanical or electrical fields and 2–5 years experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
• Two to Five years experience or four years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
• Must have a background in building maintenance, electrical, and HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly preventive maintenance on building equipment and log safety inspections.
• Inspect facility equipment such as vertical transportation, boilers, generators, and HVAC.
• Order maintenance supplies and assist in managing maintenance expense accounts.
• Assist Regional Manager with capital project execution.
• Coordinate building energy management systems and lighting via Trane Ensemble Software.
• Support store systems including POS and Telephone systems.
• Assist with kitchen equipment as needed.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and overtime during peak seasons.

You Will Be

This position’s primary role will be the maintenance, repair and general upkeep of most systems in a SFA/NM retail store. This position will aid in maintaining and troubleshooting all critical building equipment that includes but is not limited to electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, dock doors, lighting (lamps/ballasts), generators, flush valves, and facets.

What You Will Do

• Responsible for weekly preventive maintenance on all building equipment and building envelope, to include daily/weekly and monthly logging of safety inspections
• Inspections must occur on facility equipment such as vertical transportation, boilers, generators and HVAC
• Responsible for ordering maintenance supplies and assisting the Regional Manager in managing maintenance expense accounts
• Assist Regional Manager with execution of capital planning projects
• Engineer will maintain and/or coordinate all building energy management systems to include lighting through the Trane Ensemble Software
• Store systems that may need support would include, but not limited to Point of Sale (POS) and Telephone systems
• Support of kitchen equipment may be required
• Must be able to respond to after-hours and emergency calls and overtime may be required
• Must be able to work with limited time off between Black Friday and January 8.

What You Will Bring

• Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
• Two to Five years experience or four years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
• Must have a background in building maintenance, electrical, and HVAC
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and self-prioritize work assignments
• Able to work with others as well as independently and be a self-starter
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with regular bending, lifting and reaching both below the waist and above the head and able to climb ladders
• Ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management, contractors and vendors
• Understanding and knowledge of SDS (Safety Data Sheets) information
• Must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric

Salary Range $31.26 - $39.07*

Compensation for this role varies by geographic location. The listed range reflects multiple markets, including higher-cost areas. Actual starting pay will be determined based on work location, experience, and other job-related factors.
