About Archaea bp

BP is committed to investing in lower carbon energy so we can meet our ambition to reach net zero by 2050. And while we’re still mostly in oil and gas today, bioenergy is one of our five transition growth engines and a key focus to help us support the global energy transition. Archaea Energy, a BP company, is a leader in landfill gas to energy and the largest renewable natural gas (RNG) producer in the US. With big ambitions, we specialize in the development, construction and operation of RNG, landfill-gas-to-electric and dairy digester facilities. The team operates around 50 sites in 32 states with a robust development pipeline.

This role requires working closely with Archaea’s Power Operations and Maintenance teams. Support will include evaluating production, maintenance, and financial data to uncover and develop opportunities to optimize and improve activities that support power generation. Support troubleshooting efforts requiring engineering participation. Support safety and environmental compliance teams as well as facilitate and support upgrade projects. This role will require collaboration with operating, maintenance, and contractor personnel to achieve runtime and power generation key performance indicators (KPI's). This role will also require collaboration with in-house engineering teams and third party engineering contractors and consultants to develop work packages for system modifications.

  • Ensure changes in designs and processes have safety, maintainability, and reliability as the top importance.
  • Create and submit management of change (MOC) requests that loop in key stakeholders and that manage, mitigate, and document risks associated with modifications and upgrades.
  • As part of the MOC process, select the right level of risk assessment for changes, from a Hazard Checklist up to and including a HAZOP.
  • Provide engineering input and/or develop as required the operating, maintenance, commissioning, and start-up procedures and strategies.
  • Initiate and/or facilitate improvement projects through start-up and commissioning.
  • Maintain site engineering drawings and documents following a document control process.
  • Provide technical support for operation and maintenance personnel in support of Archaea's power generation facilities.
