Job summary

SolstenXP Inc. seeks a Facilities Engineer to ensure safe, efficient oil and gas production at Cook Inlet facilities. You will manage integrity programs for separation systems, piping, vessels, and controls, and coordinate budgets and project work across multiple teams.

The role requires a 4-year engineering degree, 5–8 years of experience in oil field operations, and Alaska work eligibility. Travel to sites will be required, with strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or higher engineering degree required.
  • 5–8 years oil field facility operations experience, Alaska preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Safety certifications as required by regulation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing operation, maintenance, and inspection procedures.
  • Manage asset integrity program for facilities including separation systems, piping, vessels, pipelines, and control systems.
  • Participate in budgeting (Opex/Capex) and support target achievement.
  • Coordinate facility turnarounds and preventive maintenance with operations teams.
  • Lead projects for repair, modification, or new installations of infrastructure.

Under the general direction of the Operations Manager, the Facilities Engineer position is intended to encompass a wide range of operational requirements to ensure the efficient and safe production of oil and gas at active gathering, separation, storage and pumping facilities located in the Cook Inlet Basin.

Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of operation, maintenance, and inspection procedures.
  • Manage the asset integrity program for all facilities inclusive of oil& gas separation systems, pressure piping, pressure vessels, tankage, pipelines, power generation and distribution systems, and all types of control systems.
  • Participate in the development of operating (Opex) and capital (Capex) budgets, and assist operational teams in meeting those targets.
  • Coordinate facility turnarounds, preventative maintenance schedules, and equipment reliability programs with operational teams.
  • Lead projects for the major repair, modification, replacement or new installations of infrastructure.
  • Work closely with operations personnel and subcontractors to coordinate project activities and ensure safe and timely completions.
  • Maintain detailed records of projects, including blueprints and other project documentation.
  • Perform facility condition assessments and prepare reports.
  • Assist site personnel with the selection of equipment requiring replacement.
  • Provide data, as may be needed by regulatory compliance colleagues, for the generation of reports to regulatory and compliance authorities.
  • Work with safety and compliance, and engineering professionals to maintain a quality management system inclusive of safety and compliance, maintenance, and human resource management practices.
  • Identify subcontracting needs in way of provision of subject matter expert guidance for specialized topics.
  • Manage subcontractors providing technical assistance, on-site physical services, and/or the provision of goods.
  • Periodic travel to operating locations to perform assessments and oversee critical maintenance and/or project activities.
Operational Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically and mentally demanding environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills and ability to effectively communicate with senior management, contractors and regulatory authorities.
  • Work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams including safety, compliance, operations, engineering and accounting.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of mechanical and/or electrical engineering, design and construction as it applies to oil and gas processing systems.
  • Must have basic knowledge of other engineering disciplines and construction trades including pressure piping, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, lighting, plumbing, power generation, water/waste water, fire protection, controls, fuel storage and distribution, HVAC and refrigeration.
  • Must have strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and write specifications as they pertain to procurement of materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to generate 2D drawings in AutoCAD or equivalent.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 4 year engineering degree (mechanical/electrical/industrial, etc.)
  • 5 - 8 years oil field facility operations with a minimum of 3 years of Alaska experience.
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s License
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain recognized safety certification as required.
  • Ability to work legally in the U.S.A.
  • Successfully pass a comprehensive background check/motor vehicle report and drug/alcohol screening.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision as an integral part of an effective team.
