Job summary

Emerge is seeking a Facilities Electro-Mechanical Engineer in Dover, NJ to analyze proposals, support machinery design, and guide facility modifications based on cost and technical factors.

You will supervise contractors, oversee electrical/control upgrades, and help install new systems. A 3+ year background in electrical/mechanical engineering is required, with Strong PLC/drive and CAD skills. ITAR compliance applies, visa sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience with electrical control systems (prints, VFDs, motors, drives, servos, sensors).
• Familiarity with 460VAC, 120VAC, 24VDC, and 5VDC systems.
• Experience with ladder logic software (ProWORX 32, RSLogix, SoMachine).
• Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, dampers, strainers, conveyors, and vacuum systems.
• Knowledge of water systems including open-loop and cooling towers.
• Robotics familiarity (Yaskawa Motoman) is a plus.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar design software.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, and Siemens PLCs and drives.
• Strong interpersonal skills for supervising outside contractors.

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering proposals and data related to industrial machinery and equipment design.
• Evaluate feasibility of new equipment or facility modifications based on cost, space, and technical factors.
• Provide technical guidance on manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve related work problems.
• Test newly installed machinery.
• Prepare cost estimates and initiate purchases for equipment and maintenance.
• Coordinate and support installation of electrical system projects and manage contractor relationships.
