Job summary

Blue Origin in Texas is seeking a hands-on Electrician to support West Texas site operations, repair, install, and maintain electrical systems for launch facilities, manufacturing, and test centers. This role requires reading blueprints, following safety protocols, and working with high- and low-voltage equipment.

You will join a mission-driven team focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement, with a clear path toward skilled trades mastery as part of our ongoing spaceflight

Qualifications

  • Texas Journeyman State License.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience as an electrician.
  • A high school diploma.
  • Completed electrician apprenticeship.
  • Proficiency with the National Electrical Code and local codes.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (CMV certification will be required when hired).
  • Strong safety mindset with hands-on experience for hazardous or critical operations.
  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or legally admitted into the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances.
  • Repair and maintain motor control centers and PLCs (600V and below).
  • Install and monitor performance of electrical equipment for hazards or replacement.
  • Perform work of lower level electricians.
  • Ensure care in equipment maintenance and promote safety/environmental practices.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as directed by engineering.
  • Read and update electrical panel schedules.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Support Launch Site One electrical preventive and corrective maintenance including construction activities.
  • Read blueprints.

Description

As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for repairing, testing, constructing, activating and maintaining Electrical, COMM and Fire Detection System required to support the West Texas site. This is a hands‑on position focused on electrical facility repair, construction, activation and preventive maintenance. Facilities include launch vehicle manufacturing, integration and test; launch Site, and launch command and control centers. This position will directly influence the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of secondary electrical systems including performing additions or modifications on secondary circuits
  • Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments
  • Repairs and maintains motor control centers and programmable logic controls (600 volts and below)
  • Installs and monitors performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement
  • Perform work of lower level electricians
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as directed by engineering
  • Reads, employs, and updates electrical panel schedules
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Ability to continue support of Launch Site One electrical preventive and corrective maintenance including construction activities and to maintain functionality and reliability of electrical systems required for the daily operations of West Texas launch Site.
  • Ability to read blueprints
