Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus one to two years experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus three to five years of experience.
• Journeyman Electrician Certification may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains and repairs wiring for all electrical systems, including power distribution, conduit, lighting, motor controls, and communication lines.
• Corrects malfunctions using voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters and circuit analyzers.
• Operate, repair and install basic communications and specialty systems such as parking control and emergency lighting.
• Cut, thread, bend, install conduit; pull wire; tie-in electrical panels.
• Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble electrical equipment following procedures.
• Inspect jobs for compliance to National Electric Code and University standards.
