Job summary

Impulse Space is seeking an Electrical Engineer for Critical Infrastructure & Facilities in Redondo Beach. You will own facility projects from concept to activation, collaborating with engineers, contractors and the Mojave test site team to advance aerospace capabilities.

Based at our headquarters, you will manage electrical, plumbing, HVAC and power infrastructure, ensure code compliance, and lead cross‑functional teams through complex projects while maintaining high standards and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of facilities engineering experience.
• Experience designing, creating and managing facilities drawings and layouts.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex issues and implement corrective actions.
• Understanding of regulations, codes and standards for facility engineering.
• Experience with electrical and power distribution systems (<600Vac).
• Experience with plumbing design and operation.
• Knowledge of HVAC operation and design principles.
• Knowledge of delta/wye transformers, lighting, construction specs and grounding.
• Experience with critical power infrastructure including UPS, generators and ATS.
• Detail-oriented with troubleshooting and repair capability.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan and execute site facility improvement projects with engineers, contractors and stakeholders.
• Manage budgets and provide regular financial updates.
• Oversee new construction projects through contractors.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Manage third-party vendors and services per contract terms.
• Ensure code compliance with local and federal regulations.
• Oversee sizing, installation and maintenance of electrical, HVAC and water infrastructure.
• Lead the project team through engineering, procurement, construction and activation.
• Coordinate with utilities for reliable power to critical sites.
• Evaluate facilities and implement efficiency improvements.
• Resolve questions and conflicts in the field.
