Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking Facilities Electrical Engineers to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and development of industrial monitoring equipment at the Naval Reactors Facility (NRF). You will work as part of a multi‑discipline team to meet technical requirements and oversee equipment performance.

Preferred candidates have Rockwell automation and PLC experience, with strong networking skills and a background in electrical engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical, engineering or science field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 1+ year, or current intermediate reactor training/ RPCO engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering evaluations and analyses for assigned tasks and make engineering decisions.
  • Support maintenance, troubleshooting and development of equipment at NRF and related facilities.
  • Provide technical oversight of assigned systems and monitor equipment performance for improvements.

Job Description

Facilities Electrical Engineers at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) are engaged throughout their career to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and development of industrial monitoring equipment. This exciting opportunity is located at the Naval Reactors Facility (NRF) with our Facilities team! This role will perform engineering evaluations and analyses and make engineering decisions for all aspects of assigned tasks. The successful candidate will participate as a member of a multi-disciplined team responsible for technical requirements in the maintenance, troubleshooting and development of equipment at NRF.

Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or Currently an Intermediate Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.

Pay Range

$78,700.00 - $120,500.00 annually

Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is a national asset solely dedicated to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. We rely on the dedication and innovation of our nearly 8000 engineers, scientists, technicians, and support personnel.
