Job description

Join to apply for the Facilities Director role at Acuity International.

This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in either the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel will likely be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Leadership & Operations Management: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure seamless facility operations and regulatory compliance.
  2. Team Oversight & Development: Lead, train, and support a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  3. Security & Compliance: Enforce all security protocols, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  4. Cross-Departmental Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to align operational goals and services.
  5. Financial & Resource Management: Oversee budget, staffing, supplies, and equipment to maximize efficiency.
  6. Inmate Support & Rehabilitation Programs: Implement educational, vocational, and recreational programs to enhance the well-being of those in custody.
  7. Incident Response & Risk Mitigation: Investigate incidents, enforce disciplinary actions, and maintain a proactive security strategy.
  8. Regulatory Awareness: Stay informed of evolving legal and policy changes affecting detention facility operations.
Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field OR 15+ years of significant military or corrections experience; minimum of 5 years of administrative leadership in managing secure detention or correctional facilities; equivalent experience through career development programs will be considered.
  • Industry Knowledge & Leadership: Extensive understanding of detention/correctional facility management, security protocols, and compliance requirements; demonstrated ability to lead teams in high-pressure environments.
  • Critical Skills & Attributes: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to analyze complex challenges and make critical decisions; strong grasp of rehabilitation and treatment programs.
  • Clearance & Compliance: Clean criminal background check, favorable credit check, no prior drug use; ability to obtain and maintain a background investigation.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general office equipment.
  • Work Flexibility: Ability to work full-time hours, including weekends and holidays; U.S. citizenship required.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.
  • Involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
