Facilities Director – FirstService Residential

Job Overview:

The Facilities Director serves as head maintenance technician for the community association. The director is responsible for overall maintenance supervision of association buildings, including all building systems, utilities, security, fire prevention, indoor and outdoor appurtenances, and site improvements. The director ensures all support and service is conducted in a manner consistent with management and association goals, monitors and addresses maintenance issues, performs repairs and replacements, and implements preventive maintenance programs.

  • Perform maintenance replacement and repair in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring, and other minor building repairs where a permit is not required.
  • Use new equipment properly and follow safety procedures before use.
  • Record and report all unusual and irregular conditions to the Community Manager.
  • Maintain a cordial, professional manner in dealing with residents, contractors, and management.
  • Ensure all equipment, supplies and materials are in proper working condition and kept neat and orderly.
  • Complete all other duties as directed by the Board of Directors/Trustees or Management.
Skills & Qualifications

Physical Requirements
  • Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 100 lbs or more following appropriate safety procedures.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to communicate on the phone and in person with clients to resolve issues.
  • Must have finger dexterity for typing and using a keyboard.
  • Must be mobile enough to move around the office, make copies, send mail and faxes, and walk around the property, including lengthy walks on uneven areas.

Base pay range: $70,000 – $75,000 per year. Pay is based on skills and experience.
