Job summary

Mai Animal Health is seeking a Custodian Supervisor in Elmwood, WI, to oversee the custodial team and maintain high cleanliness, safety, and sanitation levels across the facility.

You will lead scheduling, training, and performance monitoring of custodians, ensuring proper use of equipment and chemicals, maintaining logs, and managing supplies. This role combines hands-on work with leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in facility management or safety compliance preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years custodial/cleaning experience; supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred.
• Working in or supervising cleaning within a clean room environment is strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to supervise, train, and motivate staff.
• Ability to manage schedules, cleaning logs, and supply inventory.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, lead, and support a team of custodians to ensure areas are cleaned and maintained.
• Create and manage custodial work schedules for all shifts and facility needs.
• Train new custodians in cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and equipment use.
• Perform and oversee tasks such as sweeping, mopping, polishing, dusting, and waste removal.
• Must be comfortable working at heights while cleaning racking, beams, water lines and air pipes.
• Maintain sanitary restrooms and replenish supplies as needed.
• Maintain cleaning logs documenting daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning products and request supplies as needed.
• Inspect work areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
• Assist with snow removal, lawn care, and seasonal upkeep.
• Perform minor building repairs (e.g., bulbs, fasteners) as necessary.
• Operate and safely use motorized cleaning and maintenance equipment.
• Foster a positive, collaborative team environment with feedback and coaching.
• Other duties as assigned.
