Job summary

UNAVAILABLE is seeking a Janitor to maintain clean, safe environments across client facilities and remote camps in Alaska. You will perform custodial tasks, operate cleaning equipment, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while delivering strong customer service.

Responsibilities include floor care, restock of supplies, light maintenance, and reporting issues to supervision. Must read, write, and understand English; prior janitorial experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous janitorial, housekeeping, commercial cleaning, or custodial experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of commercial cleaning equipment, floor care techniques, cleaning chemicals, and sanitation practices.
• Must safely operate custodial equipment, including vacuums, floor scrubbers, buffers, extractors, and related equipment.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English as required by the contract.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as a member of a team.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and maintain quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
• Must maintain compliance with all NMS safety policies, client requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of offices, hallways, restrooms, dormitories, kitchens, break rooms, and other client locations.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, strip, wax, buff, and maintain all floor surfaces.
• Dust, disinfect, and clean high-touch surfaces and furnishings.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Transport and dispose of trash and recyclables per procedures.
• Operate custodial equipment safely and follow SDS and safety policies.
• Inspect work areas and report maintenance or safety concerns to supervision.
• Perform light maintenance like changing bulbs and snow removal as needed.
• Maintain housekeeping carts, storage rooms, and inventories.
• Operate company vehicles if required to service multiple locations.
