Job summary

The Salvation Army in Wichita seeks a reliable janitor to maintain cleanliness and safety of offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. You will sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, empty trash, and assist with furniture setup for meetings, while reporting needs for major repairs or supplies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Janitorial and maintenance experience preferred but not required.
• No certifications or licenses required.
• Basic hand tools and strong organizational skills are helpful.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub and vacuum hallways, stairs, restrooms and office space.
• Empty all trash, break down cardboard.
• Inspect and notify management concerning needs for major repairs, safety or security issues.
• Advise direct supervisor of janitorial and building supply needs.
• Remove litter and cultivate flowers as assigned.
• Follow schedule for cleaning windows, furniture, and floors polishing.
• Set up furniture for meetings as required.
• Assist with unloading and put away of any donations received.
• Assist with seasonal activities and assistance.
