Job summary

Catholic Charities-Catholic Family & Community Service (CFCS) in Paterson, NJ seeks a Custodian to perform custodial, maintenance and delivery tasks across CFCS sites and related locations. Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• One year of custodial and maintenance experience.
• Must have valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently and in an orderly manner with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work weekends when needed, and all special events.

Responsibilities

• Picks-up and delivers items such as documents and packages between CFCS sites and other locations.
• Performs cleaning of floors, offices, bathrooms, kitchen and related areas on a daily/weekly schedule.
• Attends to emergencies when necessary.
• Operates vehicles and job-related equipment safely.
• Disposes of garbage and recycling.
• Performs preventative maintenance and reports repairs needing professional assistance.
• Inspects facilities to ensure adequate supplies and secure tools.
• Keeps equipment and chemicals in secure areas.
• Unloads deliveries and moves furniture/equipment as needed.
• Locks/unlocks facilities and monitors for unauthorized access.
• Waxing and refinishing floors; minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
