Job summary

Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington is seeking a Custodian to maintain clean stores, buildings and other facilities. The role supports cleaning, floor care, and general maintenance across facilities managed by the nonprofit.

Education required is a High School Diploma or equivalent, with no prior experience demanded. The job offers a practical, hands-on environment with safety training and opportunities to contribute to a community-focused organization.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Experience: None.
• Must be able to lift 30–40 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Able to travel across varied surfaces and use safety gear.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, dust and wipe furniture, empty wastebaskets and trash containers, handles recycle materials.
• Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences etc.
• Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, vacuums, brooms, mops and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, and furniture.
• Follow instructions regarding the safe use of chemicals and supplies.
