Job summary

County of Otero seeks a Facilities Maintenance team member to perform custodial, grounds maintenance, and minor repairs across county facilities. Under general supervision, duties include cleaning, supply management, and basic repairs at multiple sites.

Minimum education is a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires 1–2 years of related experience; valid New Mexico driver’s license or ability to obtain one. This full-time role involves indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of custodial/grounds maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a New Mexico driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform general custodial duties: clean floors, empty trash, and maintain facilities.
• Manage and replenish supplies and materials as needed.
• Conduct security checks of buildings and facilities.
• Assist in renovations or minor plumbing/electrical tasks as required.
• Operate power and non-powered cleaning equipment.
• Work under supervision and perform other duties as required.
